Fixing up your home’s exterior is not just about making it look nice from the street. Around here, freeze-thaw cycles in winter and humid July heat take a toll on original siding, old shingles, and original wood trim. At Skyline Exteriors, we handle complete home exterior projects across Chester County, replacing worn-out siding, sagging gutters, leaky roofs, and drafty windows with materials built to handle local weather. You get solid work done by people who live right down the road.
A house needs a solid outer shell. When siding gaps open up, window seals break, or flashing around a chimney fails, rain finds its way behind the walls. Once water gets into the framing, small issues turn into expensive timber rot and mold problems. Upgrading your siding, roof, trim, and doors keeps water where it belongs, outside, and cuts down on drafty rooms that drive up heating bills every January.

Old vinyl becomes brittle after years in the sun, and wood siding eventually rots if you miss a painting cycle. We install heavy insulated vinyl, fiber cement, and engineered wood cladding. Fiber cement holds up extremely well against moisture and temperature swings, while quality vinyl offers reliable insulation without needing constant upkeep.

Your roof takes the brunt of summer windstorms and winter ice buildup. We lay architectural shingles with ice and water shield barriers underneath, along with proper ridge venting. Good airflow under the roof deck keeps ice dams from forming along the eaves in winter and keeps your attic from turning into an oven during midsummer heat waves.

If you can feel a draft standing next to your living room window on a windy day, warm air is leaking out. Modern multi-pane windows and composite entry doors seal tightly against the frame. That keeps indoor temperatures steady and relieves the constant load on your heat pump or furnace.

Adding a backyard deck gives you extra space for weekend cookouts and quiet evenings outside. We build decks using low-maintenance composite boards or pressure-treated lumber, depending on your style preferences and how much weekend maintenance you want to do down the line.

Rain pouring over clogged or undersized gutters pools right at your foundation, which can lead to wet basements and cracked concrete over time. Heavy-gauge gutters with leaf guards carry heavy downpours safely away from your house, keeping water off your siding and away from your footings.

Most exterior materials give off warning signs long before total failure occurs. Faded boards, popped nails, blistered shingles, or persistent drafts mean the outer barrier is weakening. Replacing aging siding or a worn roof stops rot before it eats into plywood sheathing. It also raises insulation values across your entire house. Beyond structural protection, fresh cladding and tight window trim completely change how your property looks to neighbors and potential buyers down the road.
We built our business on straightforward communication, clean job sites, and doing the work right the first time. Here is what you can expect when working with us.
Having spent seven years working on local homes, our crew has seen every kind of awkward roofline, rotted sill plate, and historic framing detail found in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Operating out of Honey Brook and working daily in West Chester, we know township rules, local permit requirements, and how regional weather affects building materials over time.
We pay close attention to flashing details, corner joints, and proper fastener placement. The hidden steps behind the siding are what keep your house dry.
You talk directly with the people managing your build. We show up when we say we will, keep the work area tidy, and clean up nails and scrap metal every afternoon.
Remodeling your home should not involve guessing games or disappearing contractors. We follow a simple, four-step approach to keep everything running smoothly.
We come out to your house, take measurements, inspect the current roof or siding, and talk through what you want to achieve.
You get a detailed written proposal breaking down the material options, scope of work, labor, and expected timeline. No surprise charges mid-project.
Our crew sets up staging, protects your flower beds and patio, tears off the old materials, and completes the build following manufacturer guidelines.
We walk the property with you when the job is done to make sure every seam and piece of trim looks clean. Once you approve, we complete your warranty paperwork.

Ben and his team did an incredible job building our deck. They went above and beyond and handled my million questions with patience. I had asked them to do a few extra things with the build the day before the deck was to be built, not expecting them to toss in these extra things on such short notice. But they did! And without batting an eye. They did an incredible job on our 16’x28’ trex deck and completed it in 2.5 days. Looks amazing and we’re so excited to make memories on our deck for years to come.Posted on Google![]()

Timelines, coverage, materials, warranties and what happens when we find hidden rot.

Most single-scope jobs, like a straightforward roof replacement or a siding swap on a standard two-story home, take three to five days on site, weather permitting. Larger projects that combine new siding, custom trim work, window replacements, and a new deck can take two to three weeks. We set a realistic schedule before starting and keep you posted if bad weather forces a delay.
Our shop is based in Honey Brook, and our crews travel throughout West Chester, Exton, Downingtown, Malvern, Coatesville, and neighboring towns across Chester and Lancaster counties. Fiber cement and heavy insulated vinyl are both great choices for this region. Fiber cement handles freezing temperatures without cracking, holds paint exceptionally well, and will not warp in direct heat. Insulated vinyl gives you extra thermal protection, comes with built-in drainage channels, and never needs to be painted. We can show you samples of both so you can compare the look and feel on your own home.
It makes a big difference. Potential buyers almost always ask about the age of the roof and siding right away. Showing that a home has brand-new fiber cement or dimensional shingles reassures buyers that they will not face big repair bills after closing. Plus, fresh exterior materials instantly clean up curb appeal.
Tear-off work sends small vibrations through exterior walls. We recommend taking down heavy wall art, mirrors, and glass decorations on interior walls sharing the outer surface. Outside, move patio furniture, grills, potted plants, and vehicles away from the work zone so our crew has clear room for ladders and waste bins. Keep dogs and kids indoors while work is actively underway.
Yes. Skyline Exteriors holds active contractor licenses, general liability coverage, and worker’s compensation insurance. That protects your property and our workers while we are on site. We are happy to provide copies of our insurance certificates and licensing details before signing any contracts.
You get two forms of coverage on every installation. First, the manufacturer warranties cover the raw materials, typically 25 years to lifetime coverage on architectural shingles, fiber cement boards, and windows. Second, we back our installation work with our own labor warranty. If a piece of trim ever comes loose or a seam needs attention, we come back and fix it.
If we pull off old siding or shingles and find rotted plywood, water-stained framing, or compromised wall studs, we stop work on that section immediately. We take pictures, show you what we found, and explain the necessary repairs along with the exact cost before fixing it. We never nail new materials over compromised wood.
If your roof is getting old, your siding is showing its age, or you are planning a deck build, let’s talk. We will take a close look at your home and give you clear advice with no pressure. Call us at 717-282-9023 or drop us an email at Ben@skylineexteriors.net to set up a time to meet.
